Scholar Deplores India PM Modi’s Affiliation to Anti-Muslim RSS
Modi has remained engaged in the ethnic cleansing of the Muslims and hate attacks on this religious minority are on the rise by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sindh University’s Larkana campus Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Azhar Ali Shah said at a seminar titled “Muslim Genocide in India by Narendra Modi” held at the Szabist Larkana campus in Larkana, Pakistan, on Monday where he was invited as the keynote speaker.
Enlightening the audience regarding the affiliation of Narendra Modi with the RSS, Azhar said that at the age of eight, Modi had joined the organization which was a national volunteer organization with paramilitary structure based on the outmoded Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy’s racists ideologies.
The RSS was the largest volunteer organization around the globe under the umbrella of Sangh Parivar and in addition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), it established hundreds and thousands of forums, clubs, societies, schools, colleges, businesses and councils at regional, national and international level to promote its unjust cause of racism.
Since its inception in 1925, the RSS always acted against the Muslim community in India. The assassin of Ghandi also belonged to the RSS which also incited mobs and violence on the Babri Masjid issue and many other incidents, he said.
Through the RSS, he said, Modi got the appointment as general secretary of the BJP and then chief minister of Gujarat in 2001. As per independent reports from the British government and other sources, including former Chief of Gujarat Police Sanjev Bhatt, Modi was directly responsible for the 2002 genocide of Muslims in Gujarat. He continued the genocide as the chief minister of Gujarat from 2002 to 2014 and from 2014 to date as the prime minister of India, he said.
After demolishing Babri Masjid and constructing a mandir there, Modi started demolishing the houses and shops of Muslims through Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Jogi Adityanat, popularly known as ‘Bulldozer Baba’ for bulldozing the houses and shops of Indian Muslims.
Azhar said that through his Minister for Culture Mahesh Sharma, Modi was eliminating the traces of thousands of years of Muslim history in India from all educational curricula and text books. This insane move had been protested by hundreds of Indian academics. Like curriculum, Modi was also cleansing the civil law from all Muslim references through the newly proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Singers like Upendra Rana were also being supported for musical genocide and so was the case of Indian movies, he said.
Even the Indian High Court and Supreme Court directed the BJP and RSS to stop hate rallies and stop demolishing the houses and shops of Indian Muslims, he said.
In the light of the continued atrocities, oppression and discrimination against Indian Muslims, the seminar unanimously resolved to approach the UN and International Court of Justice with a petition against Modi under the UN Convention on Protection and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide to stop him from further prosecution of the Indian Muslims.
Szabist Campus Head Prof Dr Zahida Abro and Dr Zamir Soomro were among the participants of the event.
